Los Angeles Lakers v Miami Heat (Lakers Lead 1-0)
The Lakers crushed the Heat in game one. Players G Goran Dragic and C Bam Adebayo are out due to injury, and G Jimmy Butler would be playing wounded with an ankle injury he suffered late in game one. The Lakers outgunned the Heat and won 124-114.
The Heat put up more of a fight than many would have predicted. Jimmy Butler had one of his career’s gutsiest performances, as he tried to will his team to a game two victory. Butler (25PTS 8REB 13AST) didn’t look affected by his ankle injury but not having C Adebayo out there extremely hurt the Heat’s defense at the rim.
The Lakers’ two stars, F LeBron James and Anthony Davis, took complete advantage of the situation. They went a combined 29-45 from the field and scored 65 of the Lakers’ points. They were too much firepower for the Heat.
The Heat are down 2-0 in this series, and if they don’t get players back from injury soon, this series has sweep written all over it.
