Bears-Sinking to New Lows

The Bears have now officially hit rock bottom as they blew their game this week against the struggling Detroit Lions, losing 34-30 in Chicago. This game especially hurt because the Bears had a big lead but couldn’t hold onto it. This is the second game in a row where the defense, which is the Bears strength, gave no effort and allowed the Bears’ sixth consecutive loss.

Head coach Matt Nagy, as Bears fans have seen throughout this season, has completely lost this locker room. The Bears have never fired a head coach midway through the season, but the only way to show this organization gives a damn is to fire both Matt Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace immediately. Neither has been held accountable for the problems they have put this organization through, and the only way to try to fix this mess is to wipe the slate clean: new staff, new direction.

The Bear’s offense was good on Sunday and gave the Bears a fantastic chance to end the losing streak. The Bears have finally started rushing the ball (140YDS). RB David Montgomery (17CAR 72YDS 2TD 4REC 4TGTS 39YDS) finally started to show the versatility the Bears were hoping to see on a more consistent basis when they drafted him in 2019. QB Mitch Trubisky(26-34 267YDS 1TD 1FUM Lost 44.7QBR 108.3RTG) played one of his career’s most efficient games and looked like he should be the starting QB for the rest of the season.

I do think the Bears are to the point where winning is more of a hindrance. The less often they win, the better their 2021 draft pick is. Although if Nagy and Pace are still around to botch it, it won’t matter.
