White Sox-We Love to Sweep!

Sunday was a good day in Chicago. The White Sox swept the Detroit Tigers on a Sunday afternoon, winning 5-2.

3B Yoan Moncada (3-4 1RBI) looked a lot more like his sweet-swinging self on Sunday afternoon. Moncada has been dealing with lingering issues from COVID and has not recovered last season’s energy level. He has admitted that contracting the virus has continued to affect him with chronic fatigue and labored breathing. Still, on Sunday, Moncada was on point; hopefully, he has it in him to contribute heading into a massive series with the Minnesota Twins.

SP Jonathan Stiever (3.2IP 2H 1ER 2BB 3K) had a solid debut for the White Sox on Sunday, and it was nice to see the organization let him come up and show off his stuff. But the real story of Sunday was how dominant the bullpen was yet again for the White Sox. The pen (5.1IP 4H 1ER 1BB 5K 1SV) locked this Tigers offense down for the second day in a row. This pen keeps getting better. A strong bullpen is a huge advantage for the White Sox once the playoff starts.

The White Sox start a huge four-game series against the second-place Minnesota Twins. They have to take at least three out of the four games and finally win a series against the Twins this season. The White Sox are 2-4 against the Twins despite being in 1st place right now. Monday’s game needs to let the Twins know this is the White Sox’ division now.
