Another week of Fantasy in the books. Many fantasy platforms delayed their claim deadline because of the Tuesday night game between the Buffalo Bills and the Tennessee Titans. There was also another game rescheduled due to the Covid-19. The New England Patriots/Denver Broncos game was postponed and moved to week six. This postponement has forced a massive schedule shift, so make sure to stay on top of the fluctuating season until the NFL gets these outbreaks under control.
Chase Claypool WR Pittsburgh Steelers 17% Owned
With neither Dionte Johnson nor James Washington seizing control of the second or third option, Claypool has erupted for one of the best games of the season for any skill position so far this season. Claypool(11Targets 7REC 110YDS 3TD 3CAR 6YDS 1TD) erupted on the Eagles secondary, and they had no answer for this rookie. Claypool reminds me a lot of a target from the Steelers past who QB Ben Roethlisberger loved to throw too, WR Martavis Bryant.
He was a big WR sitting at 6’4” who had blazing speed, and Roethlisberger loved using him even with fantasy stud WR Antonio Brown on the team. Claypool has many similar attributes to Bryant. Importantly, he is 6’4” and has blazing speed. The only reason this rookie dropped in the draft was because of health concerns. But he looks fully healthy, and the Steelers are reaping the benefits.
Alexander Mattison RB Minnesota Vikings 41% Owned
When the Vikings drafted Mattison in the third round of the 2019 draft, they knew he was special. Unfortunately for Mattison, the Vikings already had an All-Pro, RB Dalvin Cook, on their roster. Cook has been a little injury-prone since college, which leaves Mattisonto step right into lead back duties.
Cook went out early in the second half of the game between the Vikings and the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night. Mattison (20CAR 112YDS 3TGTS 3REC 24YDS) finally had his chance to shine, and he took it. Looking at his stats, it seems like he played the entire game. Mattison is my absolute top pick to lock up as he will be an immediate low-end RB1. He will be great to keep even after this week because anytime Cook misses time, Mattison will be an immediate top 10 option.
Travis Fulgham WR Philadelphia Eagles 3% Owned
Trying to figure out who will lead the Eagles receiving corps has always been a shot in the dark since WR Alshon Jeffery has never been able to stay healthy. Their highly drafted rookie, WR Jalen Reagor, has also been sidelined with no timetable on a return this season. That leaves QB Carson Wentz’s with Travis Fulgham.
Fulgham (16TGTS 12REC 207YDS 2TD) has seen more targets than anybody on the Eagles, and that includes All-Pro TE Zach Ertz. Fulgham has been one of the only consistent targets that Wentz has felt confident in. Until this Eagles WR group gets healthy, grab Fulgham. He can slide right into a WR3 spot or a good flex option as three out of four of their upcoming games. The Giants’ and the Cowboys’ defenses are giving up points in record numbers.
Andy Dalton QB Dallas Cowboys 3% Owned
Andy Dalton was thrust into Sunday’s game against the Giants after QB Dak Prescott suffered a horrific ankle injury and had to be carted off in the third quarter. Dalton (111YDS Fum Lost) didn’t put up Dak type numbers, but he did make some big throws to secure the Cowboys’ win. Ultimately, the win is what the Cowboys needed.
Dalton has never been surrounded by this much talent nor led by an offensive-minded head coach like Mike McCarthy. Let’s be clear, Dalton is not Dak, but I do feel that Dalton has some value. The NFC East is really bad on defense, and this lineup with WR Amari Cooper, WR CeeDee Lamb, WR Michael Gallup, RB Ezekiel Elliot, and TE Dalton Schultz should be more than enough to give Dalton a try.
Extra Pickups: QB Justin Herbert Chargers; QB Ryan Fitzpatrick Dolphins; WR Brandin Cooks Texans; WR Mecole Hardman Chiefs; RB Phillip Lindsay Broncos; DEF Miami Dolphins; K Matt Prater.
