Best-Sixto Sanchez SP Miami Marlins-6IP 3H 0ER 1BB 6K 89PC 1W

Sixto Sanchez has been outstanding since the Marlins called him up. His numbers over the past four games (2-1 1.8ERA .92WHIP 25IP 25K 2BB) make it hard to believe that this is his first time pitching in the big leagues. He has only issued two free passes, which is great to see. Sanchez has shown a control that many top pitching prospects have yet to learn.

Sanchez was the most significant piece the Marlins received from the Phillies when they traded for C JT Realmuto last season, and he has lived up to the hype. His stuff is hitting triple digits on the speed gun without losing accuracy.

Sanchez was even more impressive on Tuesday night as he shut down their divisional rival, the Atlanta Braves, one of the hottest offenses right now. Many questioned Derek Jeter and the calls he’s made with the Marlins, but Jeter has found himself his ace in the hole. With the Marlins’ rebuild, Sanchez is an excellent building block to start with.

Worst-Austin Meadows OF Tampa Bay Rays-0-5 4K

Austin Meadows (.291 33HR 89RBI 83R 12SB 138GP) had the breakout year that people had been waiting for from a top 100 prospect, but so far, it looks like it might have been a fluke season.

This season, Meadows (.202 3HR 9RBI 17R 1SB 29GP)  just hasn’t looked the same, and having Covid-19 might have something to do with it. He contracted it during summer camp, which forced him to miss ten games of the regular season. Despite the reason, the Rays still need Meadows to bring back the offensive prowess from last season.

The Rays are a great team overall, but they lack that one player that makes opposing teams need a game plan to get through. Meadows is supposed to be that guy for the Rays. If Meadows can bring back last year’s production, the Rays could have more than just making playoffs on its mind.
