Best-Brady Singer SP Kansas City Royals-8IP 1H 0ER 2BB 8K
The Kansas City Royals haven’t much to cheer for this season except for SP Brady Singer. Singer has given the Royals some hope they might be heading in the right direction with their rebuild.
Singer had a no-hitter heading into the 8th inning before giving up a single with two outs, his best start so far this season. Singer (2-4 4.66ERA 1.23WHIP 44K 17BB 48.1IP) has continued to get better as the season has gone on. And on Thursday night, he schooled the Cleveland Indians, a team fighting for first place in the division. It must feel good to be a Royal knowing they’ll have Singer in their rotation for many years to come.

Worst-Giovany Gallegos RP St. Louis Cardinals-0IP 2H 3ER 1BB 0K 13PC
The Cardinals have put themselves back in the playoffs. They pushed through all the double-headers and blistering schedule, but if they don’t get their bullpen figured out, it may have been nothing.
The Cardinals were in the second game of their doubleheader and held a 3-1 lead heading into the 7th inning against the Detroit Tigers. And the bullpen came in to give up five runs and blow the game. Gallegos was the worst offender as he couldn’t get one out and gave up the most runs of the night. The Cardinals are in the number two seed by a slim margin. Losses can’t happen, which means the bullpen has to get straight as soon as possible.
Gallegos was one of their best relievers last season but hasn’t looked the same. It might be time for the Cardinals to mix some things up in the pen because what they have going right now might make them miss the playoffs.
