Best-Eugenio Suarez 3B Cincinnati Reds-3-4 3R 5RBI 3HR

In what has been a disappointing season for the Reds, Eugenio Suarez led them to a  6-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday. Saurez led the National League in home runs last season, but this season (.204AVG 12HR 27RBI 22R) is a far cry from what he has done in the past.

This might be the game to get him and the Reds on a hot streak. Saurez hit three home runs, which was enough to beat the Pirates. Saurez is in the top 10 for home runs this season, and the Reds were the trendy pick to win the NL Central. Unfortunately, the offense and pitching have not been consistent enough to match this team’s talent. There are still 20 games left in the season, so if the Reds can finally play up to their talent level, they could make a run at the playoffs.

Worst-Chad Sobotka RP Atlanta Braves-.2IP 5H 5ER 0BB 1K

The Atlanta Braves own the best record in the National League East right now, but the performance they got from their bullpen on Saturday night against the Washington Nationals has to be setting off smoke alarms.

Chad Sobotka was the biggest culprit even though he didn’t get the loss. He killed any chances the Braves offense had of coming back. He couldn’t get out of the inning he came into and got blasted by a pretty light-hitting team. The Braves offense is good enough for this team to be considered a world series contender, but if they don’t figure out their pitching staff soon, it won’t matter because they will pitch them right out of first place and maybe even out of the playoffs.
