Best-Jose Abreu 1B Chicago White Sox-4-4 5R 7RBI 2HR
Jose Abreu has been one of the best first basemen since the White Sox acquired him in 2014, but the numbers he is putting up now might finally get him the notoriety he deserves. Abreu single-handedly beat the Detroit Tigers on Saturday night, and he now leads the league in RBI’s. Fun fact, Abreu led the AL in RBI’s last season as well.
After this colossal game, Abreu has shot himself to the top of the list for MVP, and if the White Sox keep winning, it would be harder to deny. Abreu signed an extension to stay with the White Sox for this reason. He wanted to play with a competitive team and is now having the best season of his career.

Worst-Josh Hader RP Milwaukee Brewers-1IP 4H 4ER 0BB 1K 1L 1BS
When the Brewers lead in the 9th inning, it’s usually a done deal with Josh Hader as the closer. However, on Saturday night, Hader blew a massive game against the Chicago Cubs. His ERA jumped from 2.13 to 4.61 after Saturday’s implosion.
The Brewers are trying to claw their way into a playoff spot, so this blown save by Hader couldn’t come at a worse time. Hader is still an elite closer, but the Brewers can’t take any more blown wins; their playoff hopes are holding on by a thread.
