Best-Brian Anderson 3B Miami Marlins-3-4 3R 7RBI 3HR Game 2
The Miami Marlins have been one of the biggest surprises of the 2020 season. Nobody had them doing anything in the 60 game season because they were just starting the rebuilding process, but to everyone’s surprise, they are in the 5th playoff spot with a record of 26-24.
The Marlins had great contributions from players they weren’t ready to use this season. Unfortunately, the team was hit with the COVID infection early in the season, and they needed to call up players just to fill the roster. Regardless, this team came together and is now eyeing the playoffs.
Brian Anderson is one of the players making some noise. Anderson won the second game of their doubleheader against the Nationals after their young ace Sixto Sanchez was taken down in the first game. Anderson bombed three home runs to take down the Nationals in the second game. He is the elder statesman on this young team, and with more performances like this to go with what has been some great pitching, the Marlins might continue to surprise in the postseason.

The Giants, like the Marlins, have been a real surprise this season and now have a chance to make it into the postseason. But if they can’t get some good starting pitching, then it won’t matter.
The Giants lost Friday night to one of the top teams in the league, the Oakland Athletics. The Athletics have a good pitching staff but their offense is not that strong. Logan Webb should have been able to handle this game, but now the Giants are left to wonder what pitchers they will be able to use this next week.
after this loss, the Giants sit at 25-25, tied with the Cardinals and Reds for the final playoff spot. The Giants, are in a pre-playoff race for the last ten games of the season. For them, it is truly “win or go home.”
