Best-Sixto Sanchez SP Miami Marlins-7IP 6H 0ER 1BB 10K
Sixto Sanchez was called up to the big leagues a week ago, and on Friday, he proved why he is considered one of the MLB’s best pitching prospects. Sanchez dominated one of the best of the teams in baseball when he shut out the Tampa Bay Rays for seven innings, striking out 10.
Those numbers are great for a veteran pitcher, but for his second start in the MLB, these numbers are insane. Sanchez let his electric fastball loose, unleashing three balls over a 100MPH and was still throwing gas in his last inning at 99MPH. Even though the bullpen blew this fantastic performance for Sanchez, the Miami Marlins might have the next rookie sensation on their hands.

Worst-J.D. Martinez OF Red Sox-0-4 2K
The Red Sox are having one of their worst seasons of all time. Ost of the blame is thrown at the pitching, but the offense hasn’t been consistent at all. Except for J.D. Martinez, who has been consistently bad since the start this season.
After Friday’s pathetic performance, Martinez is batting a measly .205. So far, he has only managed three home runs and 15RBI this season. The Red Sox would’ve loved to ship Martinez and his contract to a contender before the trade deadline, but with the way he is batting, that is not going to be possible, and the Red Sox lose out on a chance to get some prospects for their rebuild. The Red Sox sit at 10-22, and if Martinez stays this bad, the Red Sox will be stuck overpaying for underperforming Martinez.
